hedonism: don't knock it....

I wish I could feel I'd earned all this. I've pushed on with my writing; I've done some editing. But I haven't worked that hard.... Here I am, anyway, in Switzerland. The skiing is fantastic: enough snow (unlike last year), sunshine, glorious views everywhere, and not too many people. Furthermore, almost without exception, everyone is really friendly and unpretentious - not something I take for granted on the ski slopes. If you fall, someone asks if you're okay, smiley staff take your skis and plonk them on the racks of the telecabine. People help you off the train with your skis. Waiters seem pleased to see you in restaurants. Enough said. Hopefully the photos do the talking.
