the turtle diaries: kayaking

We realised that for the cost of renting a kayak for two days, we could buy our own, and (at additional expense, of course), ship it back to Edinburgh.  So we purchased one.

Silver Lake, east of Vancouver, must be one of the most dramatic but
tranquil lakes on earth.  Canada, btw, has an estimated 3 million lakes.

The kayaking was fun but we quickly discovered that we'd benefit
from attaching a skeg to the canoe to stop it spinning round so much,

Next place to kayak was Emmonds Beach, near Powell River on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast.  Due to timing of the two ferries back to Vancouver, we only had an hour here, but it was blissful.
