I've just had an exquisite experience. No, I'm not referring to a poignant film, thought-provoking book, delicious meal or even activity of an intimate nature. What I have had is another back treatment from my caring, very reasonably- priced osteopath. I could become addicted to the equipment she uses: the fleximatic, to relax my aching back; the ultrasound machine to massage all those sore little places. In addition there's ice to sooth inflammation, and manual massage to loosen up my neck and lower scalp and some kind of manipulation of my sacrum. Afterwards my body felt warm and relaxed. What is so wonderful is that the treatment lasts long enough to feel that something's been done. So often when I go to such practitioners, I leave feeling that we've only just begun - a bit like having a starter and being told that's it, when you're anticipating a huge main course, followed by pudding.
I would willingly submit to these treatments on a daily basis but there's more to life than lying on your front being administered unto - or is there?
Sighingly yours
Jane
